< Back to News Home C-Max Racing Announces New Partnership with Unitech Racing, Inc. to run the 2008 Koni Challenge Series

Posted (05/02/2008) - Rosamond Calif. (May 2, 2008) - C-Max racing, formed in 2007 by Dave Riddle and managed by co-driver Kris Wilson has reached an agreement with Rosamond Calif. based Unitech Racing, Inc. to campaign a two car effort in the Grand Am Koni Challenge Series. The team will continue to run the Porsche 997 cars they had great success with in their inaugural 2007 season.

Unitech Racing, Inc. has been a factor in the Grand Am GS world since their first race in 2003. The team has earned numerous poles, fast times, and has earned the only four wins garnered by a Nissan 350Z in Grand Am. They provided Nissan with the first professional series win in North America by a 350Z in 2004. "We are really looking forward to a rewarding and successful year with Dave and Kris. I feel that Dave has pulled together a winning combination of top flight equipment, fantastic drivers, and the people necessary to take the team to the top" said Jackson Stewart, owner of Unitech Racing, Inc.

Since shortly after Daytona in January of this year, the team has been doing extensive testing at Willow Springs International Raceway, the home of Unitech Racing, Inc. with the goal of continuing and building on the success had by C-Max last year. "Three podiums, including an overall win at Watkins Glen was great for our rookie season last year and we are confident that this new partnership will result in consistently front running cars in the Koni Challenge in 2008" commented Wilson, co-driver and team manager.

C-Max owner and driver Dave Riddle is pleased to have a much shorter commute to practice and test his race cars. "I have always wanted to have the team based on the west coast. It really cuts down on the flight times and I have really been enjoying the challenging tracks at Willow Springs."

Round Two of the Grand Am Koni Challenge will be run at Lime Rock Park, May 23rd- 26th with the green flag falling Monday morning at 9:45 am EST.
